Grover, with a very important message

We can only imagine what the United Nations must have been going through as they prepared to kickoff the U.N. Decade of Action for Road Safety. The message speaks for itself – so many are injured or killed every year in traffic accidents that the need for action is readily apparent. But therein lies the problem.

Because it’s such an important issue, you really need a world-class spokesperson. You need a figure with the skill and expertise to persuade our nation’s sharpest young minds of the need to look both ways, wear a helmet while biking, and put on your seatbelt.

Thankfully, the United Nations isn’t hurting for sharp young minds themselves, and they quickly latched on to the perfect spokesperson for road safety – Grover, of Sesame Street.

Very good chance for Red River Valley flood

A flood forecast issued Tuesday by the National Weather Service in the U.S. has confirmed what officials on this side of the border already knew: there’s a very good chance of a flood in the Red River valley this spring.
