I have a political website to support a candidate. Can I place adsense ads on the site?

Sunday, October 16th, 2011

I have just created a political website to support a candidate for presidency this election. Can I place adsense ads on the website or does it violate the TOS? I will have photos on the site that other people/websites may own but I will provide all nesscesary photo credits to those parties. Would there be another way to generate revnue that would be better than adsense ads? Would another PPC advertising agency be less strict than google?
None of the answers below are helpfull at all

If you want to make money from adsense, get your website.

If you place adsense on your political website, you are undermining your purpose–which is to promote your candidate. If I saw a political ad with adsense, I would think, "He/She is not sincere, just trying to make money.

They come in many forms. The most common form of political advertising that most people are familiar with is television advertising. However with the advent of the World Wide Web, no political campaign will be complete without putting the power of social media, political email advertising and the search engine marketing to work for you.

The Internet, due to its electronic nature and wide-spread use, is a relatively inexpensive and highly effective way to disseminate information. A properly prepared piece posted to the social networks, for instance, can go viral in a matter of minutes bringing hundreds, thousands and perhaps even tens of thousands of people to your site and ultimately to your message.

Political email advertising can achieve essentially the same thing. Using legal and ethical methods many thousands of people can be reached with what amounts to a click of the mouse button.

With search engine marketing and search engine optimization (SEO) in particular, you can dominate the top-10 results for the things that your target audience is typing into Google and other search engines over your rivals.

We can help you with all that and so much more. We are an experienced political marketing firm specializing in political advertising on the Internet.

There are many ways you can use the World Wide Web for advertising political campaigns. Search engine optimization, or SEO as they refer to it in the industry, is one of the primary ways to get the word out.

What Is SEO and How You Can Use It for Advertising Political Campaigns

SEO deals with the so-called organic results in Google, Yahoo and Bing as well as other search engines. These are the pages they display in the main body of the page when the user types in a search query into the search box.

One can never get a page to rank in the organic results by paying money to the company that owns the search engine. The ranking order is determined by a mathematical formula called an algorithm. Just to give you an idea, Google’s search engine algorithm is said to take over 200 different things into account when it comes to picking the results to display on the first page.

While that may sound overwhelming, there a few simple rules of thumb one can follow in order to do well. We will find the keywords the people you are trying to reach are searching on in Google. Next, we go ahead and create content for your website that will address the issue, question or concern reflected in the search query. If you already have such a page, we will optimize it for maximum effect.

Finally, we will promote your web page using links on blogs, social networking sites and the like to make Google notice and pick you over all the other pages out there.

Grassroots Fundraising: An Innovative Path to Political Campaign Advertising

Thursday, September 29th, 2011

These days there is increasing scrutiny when it comes to one’s campaign financing. There have been an increasing number of special interest groups that are taking a bigger and bigger role in American politics. There have been instances where a political campaign suffered a backlash from the media and even the public, because they had received money from large special interests groups with unknown political goals.

There is a real ethical dilemma when comes to taking larger amounts from a few bigger donors as opposed to taking many smaller donations from individuals. If a politician is running for public office, for instance, the fewer large donors may very well think that he or she owes them something. They may end up calling in a marker at some point. Should the politician refuse to cooperate, he or she may find that the donor has not only withdrawn their support, but is also siding with a rival candidate now. It is really hard to serve all your constituents when you owe big favors to a few.

The solution is quite simple: grassroots fundraising. Putting emphasis on the Internet with your political campaign advertising can help you create a solid base of individual supporters. The amount a single individual can donate may not be huge (they are typically less than 0). However, the goal here is to get enough of them.

With grassroots fundraising, you are also killing two birds with one stone. This is because your donors are also potential voters. In addition, if you manage to get someone’s support in this manner, they are also an asset to you when it comes to spreading the word. There is no better political campaign advertising than word of mouth.

We can help you put together an effective political campaign advertising effort using cutting edge Internet marketing techniques such as social media marketing, viral marketing, search engine optimization and search engine marketing.

The Internet is not just another means to an end however. It is making advertising professionals think outside of the box. Political advertising efforts differ greatly from products and services one may see advertised on television, on radio, in the print media and Online. Here, you don’t really have a product or service in traditional sense of the word. You are in, fact, trying to sell a person on something intangible: an idea. It is important then to hire a political advertising agency that is prepared to deal with the intricacies and nuances of such efforts.

Another way to look at the job of a political advertising agency is that they are helping you with a very public interview process. No matter if you are running for office as a public servant or if you have some other kind of goal, you are trying to sell the public on you (or your cause). This is another way that political advertising is different.

We specialize in the online segment of your advertising efforts. This can be considered a niche within a niche. Online advertising has changed the way professionals look at the task at hand. This is because an online audience tends to be savvier and better educated than the messes at large. We also have a unique opportunity take your efforts to the next level due to our ability to measure and track the effectiveness of every action we take on your behalf.

The forms of political advertising we can engage in include pay-per-click, banner advertising, email marketing and more.

why do political ads not have to abide by truth in advertising laws?

Wednesday, September 7th, 2011

So many of the ads for one candidate or the other that I am seeing , simply are not truthful. When I research their claims, I find the ad is knowingly lying. Why are they not prosecuted under truth in advertising? Freedom of speech doesn’t mean you can lie.

You are correct. Political ads do not need to be truthful. They are exempt from truth-in-advertising laws. The reason is simple: political speech, unlike commerce, is protected by the First Amendment.

Here’s just one of many articles on the subject: http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1843796,00.html

Republicans Block Election Finance reform Bill… ? Why do the Tea Partiers endorse Republicans?

Friday, August 19th, 2011

Republican senators have blocked a bill to require an unprecedented level of public disclosure of who pays for political campaign advertising. The Disclose Act had been drafted by Democrats in response to the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision that overturned federal and state limits on independent expenditures by corporations to support or oppose candidates….

Here is yet another perfect example of Big Business Gov protecting their system…

You guys keep saying how independent you are but the vast majority of "your" candidates are Repubs or repubs turned Indy… where are your Progressive endorsements ?

Progressives seem to be the only element in the federal Government with the citizenry as their main priority.. and yet there isn’t one single anti big Gov Tea Party Endorsed Progressive ?
Why ?>
all true progressives are "Financially responsible"… Responsible to the People of this country not the corporate empire that is using you.

In the meanwhile… show me a single republican that is Financially responsible

There is one Tea Party that does not endorse Republicans . TPUSA4GOD check it out in the
yahoo groups. They want to replace all elected politicians in office now in 2010. This is a big year
and our Nation can be brought back to "We the People"..
If you know God and have trusted Jesus Christ you can join.

Should news networks have to disclose how much advertising revenue they bring in from each political candidate?

Thursday, August 18th, 2011

It would seem there is definitely an incentive for many major news networks to play soft ball with the president because he will have a billion dollars in the bank to advertise with next year.

Media outlets make money selling advertisements.

What do you think?
@fush ya……."Shouldn’t people be smart enough to see it themselves?"

I don’t know about "should", I just know what people currently are. Uninformed and getting manipulated on a daily basis is the tip of the iceberg. The news media is only perpetuating the problem.

The more transparency the better. The system is getting more opaque by the minute…especially since that supreme court ruling about campaign finance and the removal of McCain-Feingold.
