SABMiller to roll more imports into U.S. market
SABMiller said Monday it will roll out a trio of South American beer brands
while expanding its distribution of an existing Polish brew, in a move to tap
further into one of the few growing categories in the U.S. beer market.
Starting in January, SABMiller's (UK:SAB: news, chart, profile) U.S. unit
will import Colombian lager Aguila and two Peruvian beer brands, Cristal and
Cusquena. They will be primarily targeted at South American populations in
locales including Florida and New York.
It will also boost its
distribution of Tyskie, Poland's biggest beer, to target the estimated 6 million
Polish-Americans living in U.S. cities such as Chicago.
Miller is looking to expand its import rollout, the
company said. "While Miller's two import priorities will remain expanding
Peroni Nastro Azzurro and Pilsner Urquell distribution, we intend to look at
developing further opportunities in the area over time," said Miller Brewing
Chief Executive Tom Long, in the announcement.
The company noted that
increasing diversity in U.S., along with retailer interest in imports, has
accelerated the fragmentation of the beer market here.
According to the
Beer Institute, imports grew 11.3% between July 2005 and July 2006 while the
beer category grew by 7.2% to represent about 12.4% of the total US beer market
last year. At the same time, mass-produced domestic beers have withered, losing
1.2% of volume last year - a source of pain to the top and bottom-lines of
Miller and rivals including Anheuser-Busch (BUD : Anheuser-Busch Companies,
Inc.

Miller Beer Sales and SABMiller Stock Dive as Boycott
enters Phase II
Monday, September 25, 2006 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CONTACT: Miller Boycott Coalition, Media@MillerBoycott.com (866)
329-3999 Jason Mrochek (FIRE Coalition) & William Gheen (ALIPAC)
Last week the Illegal Immigration Boycott Coalition passed the 100
supporting organizations mark and achieved over 12,000 petition signatures while
the Dow Jones Newswires announced a collapse in SABMiller's stock value and beer
sales in America!
The boycott by immigration enforcement groups was
brought on by September 1 reports in the Chicago Tribune that Miller Brewing
Company gave $30,000 to pro amnesty organizations that support illegal
immigration. Coalition members also determined that Miller gives large sums of
money to race based organizations like La Raza (Translation: The Race)
According to the Dow Jones News Newswires (9/22/2006) SABMiller (SAB.JO)
stock had fallen to 999p. This is a 6.02percent drop since the launch of the
Miller Boycott on September 5 when the stock was trading at 1063p. Dow Jones
reports that Miller Beer's sales are down in America more than other major
companies.
Since the launch of the boycott, coalition representatives
have been on over 25 talk radio programs and covered in several major media
markets spreading word of the boycott. Over 12,000 people have signed the
petition calling on the Executive Branch to enforce existing laws aimed at
companies that hire, aid, and abet illegal aliens. Almost 1 million hits have
been recorded on the boycott website at www.MillerBoycott.com
Coalition directors William
Gheen of ALIPAC and Jason Mrochek of FIRE Coalition are announcing phase 2 of
the boycott plan today!
"We are sending word to our extensive network
today for citizen activists to begin spreading the word about the boycott using
our online resources, such as bumper stickers, fliers, and e-mail templates."
says William Gheen. "We also hope to expand our list of supporting organizations
up towards 150 groups!"
Jason Mrochek is gives a glimpse of Phase 3
which will include citizens protesting outside of Miller Brewing Company
production plants and offices. "Shortly after the November elections, we plan to
launch protests outside of their facilities coast to coast." says Mrochek. "It
is important for the communities close to these plants and the workers in these
plants to know about our boycott that Miller Brewing supports illegal
immigration."

MillerBoycott.com Responds to Miller Brewing Company
Miller Brewing Company:
As
representatives of the National Illegal Immigration Boycott Coalition
representing over 100 organizations, authors, and bloggers, we reject your most
recent proposal to end the boycott.
We find your initial two responses
to the boycott to be inadequate, duplicitous, and lacking in assurances for the
American public. We suggest you get serious about apologizing to the American citizens and the many
groups that you have alienated in your support for law-breaking illegal
aliens.
You have supported illegal immigration. You do not
support the existing US laws that call for illegal aliens to be deported. You
have financially supported groups that support amnesty for illegal aliens,
benefits for illegal aliens, and the marches.
We plan to continue the
boycott of your stock and products and engage the coming phases of the
boycott, down and disseminate to the American public how
much money you have given to
anti-American groups such as La Raza and
the March 10 committee.
If you would like to contact us to discuss a serious
response to the millions of Americans you have offended and a way to end the
boycott then we can be reached via the following contact information.

Miller Boycott Makes History!
We have just
made history as 57 immigration enforcement organizations now support the boycott
of Miller Brewing Company through the National Illegal Immigration Boycott
Coalition located at MillerBoycott.com and IllegalImmigrationBoycott.com
This unprecedented
level of cooperation exceeds our coalition of 55 organizations that supported
the National Employer Flier Campaign a few months back.
We are well on
our way to 100+ organizations and hope to reach that level of support by Monday
of next week!
Miller Brewing Company has chosen an initial tactic of
denial and retreat. While we feel that their claim they will no longer support
groups like March 10 and La Raza, we also feel that they should apologize to the
American public and take further steps while dropping the denials. The American
public needs to be assured that Miller Brewing Company is serious about this
before we even consider dropping the boycott.
Here is a copy of their
official response and our rebuttal.
Miller Brewing responds to call for
boycott
Please continue your efforts to circulate this boycott to your contacts
and encourage everyone you know to visit MillerBoycott.com to support the boycott and sign the
petition.
Please contact any leaders you know and ask them to bring
their organizational support to the boycott coalition if they are not on board
yet. You can view an updated list of the groups supporting the boycott at the
bottom of the home page. We encourage everyone to visit and
support our allies on the list!
ALIPAC and FIRE Coalition's directors
will be on Fox News on Friday at 4pm on the Neil Cavuto Show (This
interview has been postponed until after Sep. 11th due to 9/11 topics). Please tune in and
please spread the word! William Gheen and Jason Mrochek will be sharing the news
about the boycott with the nation.
In the last few days, these directors have been on over 15 talk radio shows!
The news of the boycott
has been covered by the Chicago Tribune and has been reported as far away as
Sidney Australia!
We hope that everyone will continue and intensify
their efforts behind this boycott.
Your support as volunteers and
contributors is vital to our success. This project has been costly to put
together and promote.
Please take a few minutes to contribute to ALIPAC
and FIRE Coalition/WeHireAliens.com if you have not made a recent donation.
